Three-Day Intensive Workshop in Tennessee (2020)

Join Mark and Phyllis Woods Brown in beautiful Cookeville, Tennessee, for a comprehensive workshop on hammered dulcimer technique, embellishments, chording, repertoire, and more!

Regardless of how long you have played or where you fall on the spectrum from Beginner to Advanced, this workshop will help you become a better musician and improve your approach to the dulcimer.

Even if you have been playing the hammered dulcimer for many years, there are some bad habits that can sneak into your playing. Let us help you replace those with good habits that won't hold you back!

This workshop is suited for Beginners, Intermediate and Advanced players. Mark and Phyllis are adept at differentiating their teaching for varying ability levels so all levels will be challenged but not lost. We carefully select activities that allow different ability levels to work towards the same topic but at their own pace. While the beginners work on one thing, I'll have the intermediate level students work on something a little more challenging but still comparable, and the advanced students take it one step further still. Even better, with two master teachers, we will be able to split the group into two ability groups for more personalized instruction!
