Join me in Lake Odessa, Michigan on April12-14th for a comprehensive workshop on hammered dulcimer technique, embellishments, chording, repertoire, and more! Regardless of how long you have played or where you fall on the spectrum from Beginner II to Advanced, this workshop will help you become a better musician and improve your approach to the dulcimer. Even if you have been playing the hammered dulcimer for many years, there are some bad habits that can sneak into your playing. Let me help you replace those with good habits that won’t hold you back!
This workshop is best suited for Beginner II, Intermediate and Advanced players. Mark is adept at differentiating his teaching for varying ability levels so all levels will be challenged but not lost. I carefully select activities that allow different ability levels to work towards the same topic but at their own pace. While the late beginners work on one thing, I’ll have the intermediate level students work on something a little more challenging but still comparable, and the advanced students take it one step further still.
Mark is a former National Dulcimer Champion with half a dozen students who have also won the National Championship. Mark has a degree in Music Education and taught public school music for several years before going back to graduate school for his terminal degree in music. Mark is experienced and trained specifically in accommodating ALL different learning styles and modalities and will work tirelessly to customize this session for his students.
A non-refundable 50% deposit is required to secure your spot and to register. The remaining balance will be due at the workshop. Registration "tickets" are available for purchase below.
