Mark Wade on the Trumpet...
Mark Wade joined the faculty of Denison University as affiliate instructor of trumpet in August of 2006. Currently, Mark is completing his D.M.A. in trumpet performance at The Ohio State University, where he studies with Timothy Leasure. Prior to this appointment, Mark received his B.M. from Ohio Wesleyan University (1999), and his M.M. from The Ohio State University. Mark recently won the D.M.A. Concerto Competition and will be appearing with the O.S.U. Symphony Orchestra as a soloist during the 2006/2007 season.
Mark has had the pleasure to perform on different occasions for President George Bush Sr., Ross Perot, and the former U.S. Secretary of Defense, William S. Cohen. While pursuing his M.M., Mark toured Austria, Slovakia and Hungary as co-principal trumpet of the Classical Music Festival Orchestra of Eisenstadt, Austria. More recently, Mark has appeared with the Central Ohio Symphony Orchestra, the Newark-Granville Symphony Orchestra and the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (principal trumpet) in Ohio.
Mark recently played principal trumpet on the Ohio State University Wind Symphony's new CD entitled “The Winds of Nagual” due to be released this fall under the Naxos recording label.
