Information about this piece...

This is a staple of piano repertoire and is even lovelier on a dulcimer. Despite taking care to adapt this piece for dulcimer without tying one's arms in knots, this is still both the most difficult and most rewarding of Mark's dulcimer transcriptions. It is best suited for a large dulcimer, but can be played on a chromatic 15/14 with some octave transpositions for the extreme low notes. This is Mark's favorite piece and without fail, leaves audiences waiting to exhale.
